Rude customers are one of the most deranged individuals I have ever met. I have no clue as to why people are so impatient, especially old people. While I understand my stereotype regarding old people, I can’t help but to notice how annoyingly rude and impatient numerous old people are. I had this old lady today asking for adhesive tape for her dentures. I asked her what she needed the first encounter. She said she needs “teeth stuff” so as a nice customer service representative that I am, I pointed her to the aisle where dental care is. She then proceeds to ask me if I had this thing, pointing to her teeth. Unfathomably, I uttered the words, “No ma’am, we do not sell those.” She gets a bit aggravated and asks me again about the aisle where dental care is. I politely pointed out once again, this time uttering the aisle number clearly and boldly. She still asks me to bring her to the aisle, so my good founded nature allowed myself to bring her to the aisle. Unfortunately for me however, I had to help another customer so I had to let her know that I will be with her once I am done helping. As soon as I turn around, I hear her mutter, “Come on, really?” Rolling my eyes, I ignored her and decided to come back later. As soon as I started walking, she starts to follow me and once I start talking to the other customer, she starts interrupting and venting about how she never finds the stuff that she needs. I ask her to wait since I am already assisting a customer and I kid you not, this lady literally just told me, “You guys are shit.” I was genuinely shocked, so was the customer I was helping. After this horrendous revelation of hers from the bottom of her heart about me, I ask her politely, but firmly on what she was looking for because pointing to her teeth certainly did not help. She pulls out her denture and shows me the adhesive after taking an hour (exaggeration) of staring at me like I just stole something precious to her and her eyes were literally trying to murder me. I reveal to her that we unfortunately do not sell adhesive tapes for dentures and she just tells me, “I hate you and your CVS.” I said, “Thanks, means a lot to us,” and she just stares at me in disbelief and leaves. A sigh of relief. It had just been the start of my shift and I was already dreading that I had to meet more people like her within these 8 hours. I absolutely hate these customers. I understand that you are frustrated with us not having the adhesive to your dentures but you do not have to take it out on me. Fortunately, rest of my shift was easy, had a few people stealing, just the usual.
